Postal Museum work to start

It has been brought to our attention that the demolition phase of The Postal Museum is to start next week, starting with asbestos strip out. The key dates over the coming weeks are:

–          18th May site set up
–          20th May asbestos removal commences
–          22nd May demolitions commence
–          31st July works complete
After July they will move into the build phase, and work will also begin on the Mail Rail site. The Postal Museum claims to be very aware of the impact that this work will have on residents, and it would like to speak to everyone about the challenges they will face over the coming months, and how they can ensure that they continue to be a good neighbour to local residents.
Although this is on an adjacent site to the Mount Pleasant development, it has NOTHING to do with the Royal Mail scheme the MPA is challenging. However, it will give local residents a foretaste of the very considerable disruption to our neighbourhood over the coming years.
