Boris takes a swipe at the Islington Tribune over Mount Pleasant, claiming it is ‘beautful design’ that will deliver ‘thousands of homes’

The Mayor, Boris Johnson, used the LBC ‘State of London’ debate on 25 June as an opportunity to denounce the Islington Tribune for its coverage of Mount Pleasant.

Despite his legal obligation as the planning authority presiding over the scheme to remain neutral, Boris made it very clear what his views are. Amidst the calls for predetermination, supporters of the scheme will be pleased to hear that he thinks it’s a ‘beautiful design’ and will be a ‘wonderful place to live.’

The credibility of his views were, however, undermined by his assertion that the site will provide ‘thousands of homes for Londoners’. The Royal Mail proposes to build 681 units on the site.
