Mount Pleasant featured on the BBC London News tonight with contributions from Mount Pleasant Forum’s Mike Franks, Cllr James Murray, Emily Thornberry’s question posed to David Cameron at PMQs earlier in the week, and the Royal Mail’s Property Director, Martin Gafsen.
In a twist that has not yet been aired in public, Mr Gafsen is claiming that the RMG can’t afford reasonable levels of affordable housing (and, therefore, good architecture and planning) because of the vast sums it has spent on enabling works on the basement of the refurbished sorting office. In short, the RMG wants the public to pay the price for making their business more efficient.
We hope to have the video available on the website by tomorrow. Keep checking!
