With the recent news that GIA were offering local residents payments to compensate for the poor and insensitive architecture that Royal Mail is proposing at Mount Pleasant, it has become apparent that the strategy is widespread – one resident has been offered £26,807.13 to release their Right to Light.
Surely it would be better to design a scheme that did not negatively impact the local built environment to such an extent as to required paying residents off? And all this from a company ‘keen to maintain good neighbourly relations.’
Talking to your neighbours would be a good start. Happy New Year!
